Build an Evidence Centre Buyers and AI Can Verify

Polished opinion pieces don’t answer the questions buyers and AI systems need to verify before trusting you. An evidence centre does: clear, current pages on security, pricing, implementation, integrations, results and who you are.

What is an evidence centre?

A set of factual pages that let buyers, reviewers and AI assistants verify what you say: product documentation, security and privacy, data processing, implementation, integrations, pricing, customer results, benchmark methodology, changelog, company story, real expert bios, and contact, support and legal pages.

Why it works: each page answers a verification question and shows when it was last updated. Fictional company and numbers.

What do search engines need from these pages?

For Google, pages must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet to appear as supporting links in AI Overviews or AI Mode, with no additional requirements; the usual technical and people-first principles apply (Google on AI features and your website). Don’t hide key facts in PDFs or images only, and keep pages crawlable.

What about ChatGPT?

OpenAI says to make sure you aren’t blocking OAI-SearchBot if you want public pages to appear in ChatGPT search; GPTBot is the separate crawler for potential training use (OpenAI’s publishers FAQ). Decide each deliberately in robots.txt. Details are in AI crawlers, robots.txt and llms.txt.

Founder rule

Publish the facts, not just the opinions.

Buyers verify before they buy. Make verification easy.

How do you keep it trustworthy?

  • Date every page and update it when things change.
  • Use plain language: what you do, for whom, and limits.
  • Name real people with real experience.
  • Link from guides and product pages to the evidence.

Review it with the AI content quality review, refresh it via the refresh system, and publish methodologies for product-data reports.
